When my 13-year-old sister died, my world felt like it was falling apart. My parents divorced shortly
before my sister's death, and nothing in life felt right for a very long time. I, like many of you, was
going through a very painful time in my life when even God felt distant.
I've had many other occasions that felt like my world was turned upside down and would never get back on
track again. I slipped into a time of depression, and all of life looked dark and hopeless. What I needed
was a continual reminder of hope.
Allow me to be that friend talking to you in your time of need. Let me help calm your fears as I remind
you through some of my personal experiences and scriptures that God is still near. You're not alone.
Allow me to remind you of the hope that is available to get you through your time of pain. I urge you to
